The Parade March 

Notts Pride begins with a visibility march through the city centre of more than 7,000 LGBTQ+ people and allies. Many businesses, charities, groups and organisations join us, while many more march as individuals, couples and families. Our Pride march stewards will be on hand to help guide and organise those taking part and will be there if you have any questions or need assistance. We love to see such large numbers taking part in the march but remember to plan ahead as you may be on your feet for quite some time. Sun protection and plenty of water are both highly recommended. 

The market

Around 5,000 people join us in the afternoon, with educational stalls weaving their way through the streets of Nottingham. You will find local grassroots community groups, charities, organisations and staff networks who offer services, support and information to LGBTQ+ people. 

The Main Stage

We provide a central stage for a host of artists from Nottinghamshire’s LGBTQ+ community. From spoken word poets and musicians to drag artists, we recognise the importance of celebrating local talent and they will always be our headliners. If the main stage reaches capacity, our security may pause admitting people to the stage area for a short while for health and safety reasons, so please do not be offended if this happens. There is plenty going on for everyone to enjoy.

If you require access to our accesible viewing platform it should be easy to find – toward the left of the stage. If you are struggling to find it please speak to one of our stewards. 

Please note you cannot bring glasses, glass bottles of alcohol into this area. There is a bar onsite using Polycarbonate glasses. This is to keep everyone safe and reduce plastic waste.

Family Area

A new space for 2024. We have partnered with The Spencer Trust Charity, to bring a Family Friendly element to Notts Pride 24. Expect Face Painting, Circus Skills, Crafting all based around the work of LGBTQ+ Author Troy Jenkinson. BBC Radio Nottingham will also be there to inspire our next generation of DJ’s and Presenters and the grand finale will be Kitty Tray with their fantastic story telling skills.

Please be aware Notts Pride does get really busy and whilst we aim to keep this space relaxed it may take some time for people to settle in. We expect between 12.30pm and 1.30pm to be the busiest time.

Accessibility

Notts Pride is for everyone: here are the ways the event is more accessible

Designated space in the march for people with disabilities and wheelchair users in wave 1, the first section of the march. Look out for the flag between the trees next to M&S at the bottom of Albert Street. This part of the march won’t be as crowded.

British Sign Language interpreters will be on the Main Stage on Sneinton Square all day, signing lyrics and speeches.

Assistance dogs are welcome in all locations.

Extra toilets have been provided in the area. These will be located Just off Sneinton Square and several of them will be access toilets.

A designated access viewing area near the front of the stage will be available for wheelchair users and anyone who needs a better view of the BSL interpreters.

All of our stewards and security staff are aware of these measures and will be happy to help on the day.

Hockley Events

The Home of our Rainbow Road and the Heart of Nottingham’s LGBTQ+Community.

Broad street will be a blaze of colour with flags and banners made by community volunteers lead by tiger projects.co.uk.

Broadway Cinema will host the Pride Mezzanine stage with DJ’s and Performers throughout the day.

DJ’s and dancing into the early morning expect great things from The Lord Roberts Nottingham

Gladrags at Rough Trade will be hosting a free to attend daytime event prior to their evening event (details found on the link above)

There will also be a BBQ and drinks offers for their final time before closing up at Revolution Hockley
