What’s on

Our core values of visibility, education and celebration run throughout Notts Pride on the last Saturday of July each year. Here is what you can expect from this year’s event…

The march

Meet at: The junction of Lister Gate and Castle Gate (outside M&S)

Meet from: 10am

March begins: 11am

March end point: Broad Street

Notts Pride begins with a visibility march through the city centre of more than 7,000 LGBTQ+ people and allies. Many businesses, charities, groups and organisations join us, while many more march as individuals, couples and families. Our Pride march stewards will be on hand to help guide and organise those taking part and will be there if you have any questions or need assistance. We love to see such large numbers taking part in the march but remember to plan ahead as you may be on your feet for quite some time. Sun protection and plenty of water are both highly recommended.

The market

Location: George Street / Goosegate

Time: 12PM

Around 5,000 people join us in the afternoon, with educational stalls weaving their way through the streets of Hockley along George Street and Goosegate. You will find local grassroots community groups, charities, organisations and staff networks who offer services, support and information to LGBTQ+ people.

The Main Stage

Location: Heathcoat Street

Time: 12PM

The theme of celebration continues throughout the day as we provide a central stage for a host of artists from Nottinghamshire’s LGBTQ+ community. From spoken word poets and musicians to drag artists, we recognise the importance of celebrating local talent and they will always be our headliners. If Heathcoat Street reaches capacity, our security may pause admitting people to the stage area for a short while for health and safety reasons, so please do not be offended if this happens. There is plenty going on for everyone to enjoy.

Please note you cannot bring glass bottles or alcohol into this area. This is to keep everyone safe.

Lace Market Square

Location: St Mary’s Gate Hockley

Time: 12PM

A new space for 2023. Lace Market Square will feature some of our market stalls including an event for families with younger children delivered by Troy Jenkinson from 2pm. If you need some quiet time or a place to sit away from the crowds Lace Market Square will have picnic tables and additional toilet facilities.

Food & Drink

Hockley is alive with many wonderful bars and restaurants and we encourage you to visit them for refreshments during the day. Many will also have their own entertainment, particularly into the evening as the party continues, and have Notts Pride specific offers throughout the day.

Toilet facilities

Toilet facilities are available at many venues throughout Hockley.

There will be additional toilets available on Heathcoat Street and Lace Market Square.
